To some a Mother Ring is a family tradition. Its one way for a mother to remember her childrens birthstone colors. They are usually made from gold. The idea is to have her birthstone first then (in order of their births) her children's birthstones.

 

 

A Grandmothers Ring is virtually the same as a mother's except it usually has two tiers of stones. One line of stones are her children's birthstones and the next tier is her grandchildren's.

 

A Daughters Pride Rings is the same concept but has her fathers birthstone, her mother's birthstone and hers in the middle.
